Ready For Baby

a postpartum preparation course

Having a baby is so exciting! Expectant parents spend a huge amount of time preparing for the birth of the baby, but often the postpartum period is a bit of an after-thought. Don’t make this mistake! With my Ready For Baby course, you will be prepared for anything that will happen once you arrive home with your newborn.

Course Outline

Part 1: What To Expect

Topics include: what to expect in the hospital, tips for physical recovery from the birth, postpartum mood disorders, basic infant feeding information, normal infant sleep behaviors, and basic newborn care. Note: If you are planning on breastfeeding your baby, I also recommend an in-depth breastfeeding course.

Part 2: Your Postpartum Plan

I guide you through developing a plan with your support person. We decide who will do what tasks after baby is born, discuss the things you and your partner need to do to feel human, and talk about many topics including getting rest, caring for siblings or pets, cooking and eating, household chores, and having visitors. I guide you through an honest discussion about your concerns and expectations so we can agree on a plan that works for everyone in the house.
